I Bit My Lip
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had 3 seizures on Saturday and bit up my lip and tongue pretty bad. Any ideas on how to ease the pain help the healing process. I've already been trying sea salt and warm water

Hot water is the best thing to do , if your lips are swollen. Maybe add some chapstick or Carmex if lips are chapped

You can call the dr and ask them to submit a prescription for viscouse lidocaine. Use if like mouthwash to numb if for a while. Hope you feel better! I keep biting my tongue during my seizures. It was bruised for over a month last time. I also rinse with concentrated mouthwash for longer than normal because the longer you swish with it the more it numbs

I used warm water with fresh lemon juice and just alittle bit of salt, gross but it helps with the pain, hope you get to feeling better!!

When I was diagnosed 42 years ago I had about 5 tonic/ clonic seizures & took chunks out of my tongue OMG it hurts Sometimes that would be the only way I knew I'd had a major seizure No info back in the day I'd try swilling your mouth with salty warm water but I'm sure your pharmacy may have something that would help Good luck !

I think there's nothing else. When I was in hospital after 5.seizures in one day. Saw neurologist and just said that goes with Epilepsy.
