Ativan

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Has anyone else been prescribed Ativan? I've noticed it helps tremendously as stress is a huge trigger to my seizures. I noticed it the most at work, it's stressful now and I haven't had a seizure whereas before Ativan I would have. Just wondering if anyone else is taking Ativan as well?

I believe Ativan is Benzodiazepine and can be addictive. I would be careful and look for a different solution.

I’m taking the Generic of Ativan. I use an ( oral ) Lorazepam . I use it as a recovery medication. When I start having cluster seizures , I take it.

Youd honestly be better off just buying some pot .

I have and benzodiazapam does help the seizure . The drug however will get to the point where you are addicted and to get off of a large dose ,the withdrawls are worse than heroin . They can cause seizures. I never went through that but my dose wasnt big. Its why they are rarely prescribing it now. So its a double edged sword . For you if it helps your seizures ? It may be worth it.
