What Can Stop An Autonomic Seizure? What Are Your Symptoms? I Get Diarrhea And Upset Stomach, They Resemble A Panic Attack.
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

What can stop an autonomic seizure? I feel like that is what is going on, my Neurologist says there is no test to know if it is. My general practitioner says it is from panic attacks. I take Promethazine to help calm the nausea and gurgling stomach. Anyone else get an upset stomach and diarrhea from panic attacks or go through Autonomic seizures? I also get the chills, crying, heart palpitations, and it takes a day to recover. I feel like my stomach got punched really hard.

When I first went on Keppra my Neurologist told my husband to keep an eye out for suicidal tendencies. Apparently it is one of the most likely side effects. Luckily none for me.

Those panic attacks could be auras. When I was younger I would complain about these feelings that I was feeling. I had told my mother about feelings I would get. Feelings like something bad is about to happen. It was not until I changed doctor’s when I found out that those feelings I get are called auras. Seizure related

I think seizures and panic attacks go hand in hand. I have found a panic attack can trigger a seizure..and a seizure can trigger the panic attack. I never know what's going to happen..

I get all of the same symptoms. I call em mini seizures I know thats not the right term but it helps my family understand whats going on with me.

Sometimes this happens before a grand mal..and sometimes it happens after.. I hate em. Its like you have the flu and panic anxiety and cooties all rolled into one. ((Hugs))

Hope that you find releif soon. Theyhad to double my meds. Which worked for the most part its been 2 weeks since ive had a attack.

I had to look that up...
I get a sense of nausea, a flush feeling, a change in breathing- usually through my mouth rather than my nose, drying out of the mouth,, and constricting of the right side of neck. It is short lived and ALWAYS precedes a Grandmal, but does not always result in a grandmal. I have a VNS. It's time to "swipe the magnet" to kick it in overdrive. Followed by a round of diarrhea.

Take one round of Imodium AD. But only one. If needed.

Keppra made me suicidal, I was cutting myself. Finally got off of it after four years. CBD oil helps, but it lowers my blood sugar so low.
