I have been having seizures since I was 8. And recently started seeing a nuerologist. I've had many people see them and am usually aware that I've had one. Most of the time I can feel them coming before I have one. I recently had an MRI but it showed normal and I also had an hour long EEG that also showed normal. I know I am having them but this makes me frustrated not being able to find out anything. My doctor started me on keppra and diagnosed me without any abnormal tests with complex partial… read more

Omg!! Me too, I'm literally just going threw this right now. Just got my MRI test back today and already did my EEG but it came back normal. Going to talk to the doctor later today but I feel the same way. I know I'm not crazy. But thats how I feel, kinda feels like everyone thinks I'm lying or making excuses. And I feel nobody knows how I feel sometimes. But I totally understand you. Hope you find out like I've been trying to, too. Good luck!

MRI is good for showing any permanent damage or points that may be misfiring - that can be a common cause of seizures but not always...

Yes. EEG only reads activity when happening. If theres no activity during the testing it will read as normal

Yup. Those tests can be an indication or something they use to find an answer but plenty of people have seizures with perfectly normal brain scans. Seizures can affect anyone at anytime (even without epilepsy) most people don't know this.
