Ok...was going to 2 different hospitals and got 2 different results on my MRI. First one said that one of my Tempole Lobes are abnormal and they want to do surgary without a EEG Monitoring. Went to the second hospital, did a MRI, EEG Monitoring and had 3 seizures while being monitored and their saying that my brain is normal!!! Im too confused...
I had countless EEGs done. All at the same hospital. Some were normal others came back with no specific abnormalities on the left side. Years later they found on a MRI the whole right temporal lobe was damaged by the Encephalitis.
They did proper testing and did a right temporal lobe labectomy in 1994. At that time they did not have the advanced testing they do today. No two doctors, or just people look at the same thing and always agree with one another.
I would never have had the surgery had they not did proper testing at that time. Hugs Wendy
I can relate. After 31 years of siezures, they are still debating whether or not to give me surgery.
The only test that really worked for me was the depth electrode test. That one gave me, my Dr. the real truth and answers.
Personally I have given up on eeg's. I have more then 5 of them. The last two, one was 24 hours and the last was a week long. I had seizures during both of those test and no good information/proof ever really came from either of them. I have also had CT and MRI scans. To really find out everything I had the depth electrodes test-then/now have the VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulator) implanted inside me.
Go to one more doctor. One will be synonymous with one of the results.
