A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

How did it work for you? Any strong side effects? I will be starting it soon, just want to know if anyone has any experience with it.

Im on it at the moment . Ive just been abit grumpy so people tell me. I think im more noise sensitive and that hasn't helped a it makes me grumpy. But I have been more alert so that's a good thing. I hope it helps you.

I recently started taking Briviact. I started feeling cramps in my lower legs and feet. It stopped after the 2nd week.
I'm now in about the third week and I'm noticing mood changes. I recently had two disagreements with family members that I normally would not have had. I've found myself apologizing twice and blaming this new medicine.
I'm going to give it a little more time and hope it stabilizes.
I've also felt a few dizzy spells while taking it.
Hopefully this helps! Wishing you all the best!

I looked in my medical journal that we use in the hospital and here is what it said for adverse effects—
16% somnolence and sedation
12% dizziness
9% fatigue
5% nausea and vomiting
3% cerebellar coordination and balance disturbances
3% irritability
2% constipation
But I’m not taking this AED so i can’t say any of these are for sure or if there are other side effects
