I was denied again for Disability! I been trying for this since 2012 and still no luck. They say i am capable of taking care of myself since my seizure medications are doing good for a few years. Can they do that to one knowing we have Epilepsy and strive daily just to stay on point? It really disappointed me because we are asking for help and well my neighbor got Disability were he ain't suppose to do any type of work and he is doing side jobs cleaning construction work at homes and cleaning… read more
LaRonda read my story but I got on disability in 4 months my disability guy can get anyone on it asap. I can give you his name and number. I agree with you there’s a lot of people that play the system and that messes it up for the people that truly need on it. Every one gets denied the 1st time but my disability guy just refaxed my claim right back in i they approved mine. He knows the system and how everything works.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member... Thank goodness I have now left South Africa! I feel sorry for the others there trying to get Disability Grants; I know the struggle I had.

What an idiot leslie..He just has no idea what it feels like to go through one or we ever get out of it! So sorry for that. Sending you a great big hug.
It took me at least 2 tries before they approved me. The first time my husband was making too much money & then when it got worse & my neurologist put on my papers that I can't work & must have someone with me then I was fully approved & have been on it since 2010. I can't do a lot of things plus get anxiety due to being nervous about having a seizure. Keep trying & tell your neuro or family Dr. when filling out the papers everything you can that is going wrong in your life & tell them you keep getting denied when you very much need the disability to make your epilepsy to stay calm. I know every place is different but never give up & I can help you if needed
