Depression And Drugs
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone feel the same way as me. Q:due to some of the meds I'm on you get depressed. Doctor wants to put me on meds to control this. I have said no because I find talking therapy more beneficial!

My biggest complaint to my neurologist is after 56+years you still haven't come up with an alternative therapy for those of us who don't want to take any more pills what is wrong with those teachers who made u a so-called brain doctor? you should be looking for other ways to help me rather than pushing pills at me that's not what I want.

I always get depressed, i go see a counselor they want to put me on meds and i refuse to take depression meds i rather talk my problem out it makes me feel better then getting drugged up.

Found that obtaining and taking antidepressants made me think more about being depressed and it just got worse. Much happier not taking tablets and knowing that I was improving things myself. Talking about my successes helps much more than telling people about my personal problems and the reason for the medication.
