Uncontrollable Crying
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone often experience uncontrollable crying? I feel like mine has become worse over the years, especially post-operation. It is not just crying from saddness, but more often I find it harder to cry when I am actually sad, but play a heartwarming commercial, my favorite song, show me loved ones being reunited, etc. and it is all waterworks. Maybe this is my emotional human nature, but it just seems too strong and out of my boundaries of comfort. Thank you for your input!

Show me a commercial on animal abuse and it goes to the core; if I feel threatened mentally (someone who keeps trying to re-arrange my life from their stand point) I get teary and walk away crying...since I have been taking some of these drugs I find it hard to maintain a firm ground...I have been told that are some of the drugs' side effects...so we trade a few tears instead of seizures??? Honestly, I am attending a workshop on how to be stronger and handle things on my own terms...they said it is okay to be emotional!
Sometimes there are other contributing factors we are unaware of; stress underneath the surface we have been holding in; stress about things we weren't aware of...does this help???

It does! Thank you very much for sharing :-) I never really considered the impact of stress, and my career as a TV News journalist certainly could affect that, and medication side-effects are a given. Again, thank you for sharing!

I find that I am overly-emotional to what is appropriate to a situation, and ESPECIALLY when I am frustrated, like when I am not understanding something at work.

I have been very emotional lately. I had for tonic clonic seizures last month all in one night. I had not had any seizures prior to that in two and a half years. I was feeling better more stable and less moody and emotional. Now I am crying and don't know why. I feel confused and remembering things is hard.
