Being Yourself Is More Than Enough

Posted on May 14, 2018

"After years of feeling like I need to be better, stronger, healthier, and in control, I now know I am enough." - Member of MyEpilepsyTeam

Members of MyEpilepsyTeam experience the burden of epilepsy physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Sometimes we strive to appear healthier than we are to avoid the stigma of epilepsy. Other times, we experience relief and support from peers who've been in our shoes.

"I'm getting out of the rat race. I'm not hiding my condition anymore. If I'm tired, I'm going to rest. Hearing from others with epilepsy has taught me that I have to prioritize ME."
-Member of MyEpilepsyTeam

Here are recent conversations from members on MyEpilepsyTeam:

"My brain is slower at times BUT that is OK. I will deal with that. I tell everyone that I will deal with the 'give me "time when talking' because sometimes words don't to my mind fast enough. I say that is easier than feeling weak and no strength and feeling like a veggie all day."

"I truly believe that life is 10% circumstantial and 90% perspective and you can change your life with your attitude. The past week has been pretty rough...not gonna lie. But l truly believe that you can change your future by how you choose to view your present."

"Yes seizures are irritating but it doesn't bother me. That's what makes us human beings. Not the same as others. We are all unique and that puts a smile on my face because I can and everyone ready is capable of greatness."
