Absent Seizures
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have three different types of seizures. The one that scares me the most are my absent seizures because I do things I don't know I'm doing and can't feel the pain when I hurt myself till after I come out of it. I put both hands on the burners of the stove and had to go to the burn clinic for three weeks. last year I put my arm in a skillet burnt myself so bad I spent 8 days in the hospital and had a skin graph done. it's still amazes me that I can hurt myself so bad like that and not yell out… read more

I use to get an aura or odd feeling before a seizure but now I get nothing. I really wish I had my life like it was before I had my brain tumor and all these seizures after that

Amen to that. I am just trying to get back into cooking and I am in the hospital this week for tests. Having more seizures different times of day. Not every day though. The last two I felt something before each one. This will be the first time I have felt one coming on. Can be a mixed blessing. Can still have seizures but I might be able to tell when they are about to happen. Hang in there.

I had problem similar to that, but mine was not don by from burns once. I also have seizures may do regularly done but with no awareness. Which I did once fell fractured my finger unknowingly. Then thinking it was just a sprain. Paying no attention after about a week. Since density didn't change I went went to doc. to hear since I ignored the pain the fracture developed into a severe break I needed reconstructive surgery. Now that finger I broke is slightly bent and point out staight.. I recommend never ignore pain surprisingly developed after seizures!
