I'm on epilm at the moment but Zonisamide is slowly being added at the same time I'm slowly coming off eplim, so I'm having change over of med and wondered how it will effect me.
It have been making me very tired.
How is what I'm taking at the moment.
Morning... 600mg epilm & 50mg Zonisamide
Afternoon... 300mg epilm

I like being on Zonisamide!
Tried many anti seizure meds and they only differ in intensity and duration, frequency fairly constant-when trying to nap in afternoon or starting with drowsiness 8-9 pm. Frequently awake with recurring seizures (my doc calls them episodes since I don't lose consciousness. A few puffs of medical marijuana allows me to return to sleep without fear of more seizures. Now trying Aptiom (sp?) after Dilantin, oxcarbazapene, carbazapene, kepra, lamictol, etc., etc.
I wonder if he would put me on Dilantin if it would also help my weight issue
I know nothing of it and neither does my mom. Shes never heard of it. It was created or found after she stopped taking meds. The doctors only told me the usual side effects that come with medicine, dizzy, nausea, drowsiness. Anything i need to worry about?
I take Zonisamide. Keeps My weight down too! As far as memory loss, it could be from the Vimpat I take.

Medications
I take Epidiolex, Clobazam and Zomisamide.
It should be fine. But I’m not a Dr. You may get better advice from your Epilepsy doctor
I believe the insomnia started with the addition of Zonisamide. It was manageable at the time.
For unknown reasons Post Surgery I’m not able to get any decent sleep.
We’re starting with trying melatonin. Then a sleep pill (trazadone). If neither work we’ll try lowering the zonisamide.
Generally anything like that has to be done by a GP or the specialist. You can't just play around with it.
I have been on Lamictal (800mg) since diagnosed 20 years ago which controlled seizures well until 3 years ago (have several Gran Mal per year). Dr added Keppra (3,000 mg) but hasn't seemed to be effective and causes rage issues. She is now suggesting Clobazam or Zonisamide. Anyone with a combo of either with Lamictal?
