Years ago I had mood problems causing me to be temperamental which triggered my seizures at school, making my life even harder to live with, cause no one understood my health problems, I was put on Valium as well as phenytoin ,and I was ill treated by my family, and at school cause I had a seizures, but now I live alone only take anticonvulsants and I feel calm and relaxed, over 50 years later .

Increased Meds And Leg Problems

Recently my Dr increased my Gabapentin three fold and added 100 mg of Topamax. Since the med change I've noticed a lot more leg pain and numbness. I can no longer walk a flight of stairs without stopping and even walking around the house has become a problem. They are keeping me awake at night twitching and aching. Is this normal, part of getting used to it?

I was put on Depakote / Valporic Acid for a while and I couldn't walk as I got
excruting pains in my calfs from it
Depakote doesn't always work for everyone.

It can be used as a rescue med in some cases ask the Dr which rescue med you should carry make sure that you have information that will tell EMT'S on you

I have a tremendous fear of flying and can't take things like Valium for stress, or a couple bevvies like I used to. Most of my seizures are triggered by stress. Should I fly? It's a hell of a long way up to seize..and I live on an island..

It is not stress that Valium is giving you, it is anxiety.Too many times anxiety is mistaken for stress.What you are experiencing is totally anxiety.Look up the definition of stress.Try being put on… read more
