I Had The 4 Day Seizure Study When I Was First Diagnosed Then Via Eeg With Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. No Seizure Activity During The Study
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My new neurologist is telling me I don't have epilepsy based off this four day test. Thankfully I don't have the brutal seizures many of you have but I've had partials, absent, black outs and bizarre behaviors. I'm under control with the typical stabilization meds. Any four days of an epileptic's life varies, that's why I can't buy life time diagnosis from this. I'd love to say I don't have epilepsy but I'm not going to go jumping out of his office when I think he's wrong. Feedback?

Epilepsy And Psychiatrists
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Ok so basically I call my Psychiatrist my drug dealer cause I think that's all they do. The one I currently have is trying to help me with me being crazy and depression and everything. She keeps advising me that I should try ketamine. I keep thinking to myself like I sold this to kids at raves when I was younger. Has anyone used ketamine for anxiety with epilepsy? Also I was thinking that I might need to change to a different "Drug Dealer" that has more experience with epilepsy. Any advise would… read more

Do I Have To Pay For A Psychiatrist?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been considering this for a few years now.
For me it's nerve racking, lately I've been having problems with depression and anxiety etc.
I've mentioned it to my partner but he can't understand why I'd even think of seeing one...
I don't know.

How To Bring Up Suggestions To Your Doctor?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with puedoseizures and epilepsy in 2014 put on Keppra and Topamax. I saw little improvement. Ive had time to think through those diagnosis and come to a realzation that my seizure like events may have always been puedo due to a tramatic event I sustained at age 15. Im wondering how i bring up my thoughts on this matter to a doctor? Do I talk with my neruologist or my psychiatrist?
