Had your surgery been successful? I have a neuro appt. next week for MRI and update on new meds added to my other med and I was wondering if I should talk to him about this.
Been having attacks recently and dr looking at operating. Any advice?
I had "epilepsy surgery" at the Mayo Clinic known by many as "brain surgery" for my quite bad seizures. It looks like things are working out
Hi @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member . The main reason for my Grid electrodes being placed under the skull while connected to the EEG , is to help map out exactly where the seizures are located . I only had… read more
In January I am scheduled to have a temporal lobectomy on my right hand side I was wondering who all has had this procedure done before and how it went
Thank you! Also if it makes you feel any better my neuro said the exact same thing. I had an eeg in 2016 and 1 seizure was on the left side so they shut operation down. Only in September did they… read more
They said I'll be in hospital 3 days. I'm not bothered by it I was just curious about length of time and operation length. I'm guessing 2hrs
I had a seizure in the hospital the hospital the second time and seizure standing outside the second operation
I'm 6ft 5 and about 15/15½st and subconsciously I believe they're going to tell me your over weight for this operation and it's really concerning me and kinda stressing me out a lot to be honest. Am I over weight for the operation please help
Can you get a second opinion?

The work was obviously done on the right side of my head. My left shoulder and hip are sore. I’m assuming I was strapped on a steel operating table for the 9 hour procedure.
The Tylenol is doing its job. Just not something I was expecting.
If you are concerned about your procedure, you said are going to ask your doc the? Here, so couldn't you call the hospital and ask them about it and someone there inform you of the process of the… read more
Hi everyone. I am Robbie, going to be 57 on August 1 and have had seizures since 11 years old. I take Carbatrol, Keppra and Lamictal for my seizures and also have had VNS since the early 90's. I have never been able to get my seizures fully controlled. The last couple of years they are getting steadily worse...have tried 3 new meds over the course of last year..had reactions to all if them and couldn't take. I'm thinking seriously about having the surgery done to remove scar from my brain they… read more
