Epilepsy And Dementia
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've had epilepsy all my life. About 20 years ago I had temporal lobectomy surgery. The past few years seizures are out of control again and it's started affecting my memory worse. They did some tests and I was diagnosed with dementia. I asked what kind of dementia and all they say is it's caused from your surgery. Has anyone had to deal with this? Hopefully not, but I'm just scared and confused.

Why does none of my medications seem to control my seizures . Are there special medications for temporalofrontal seizures ? How should I word this to my provider because he don't believe me .

It took me a while to get the right medications for my seizures. Sometimes you have to go to another doctor and get their opinion.

MRI Results...
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

It's my first MRI since being diagnosed with epilepsy and so far the results say the only thing they caught was I have no defined hippocampus. I have to wait 2 weeks now for the doctor to tell me what that actually means. Just curious if anyone else has ever had results similar to that. thanks
