I've got complex partial seizures with identified abnormality in my temporal lobe. Seizures are focal so my neurologist said surgery is an option I should consider, but I'm pretty scared and not sure it is worth it. My seizures aren't very bad and I could still lead a mostly-normal life but I plan to become a doctor and with sleep deprivation being a major trigger for me it may prevent me from pursuing my desire to work in a hospital (which means long hours). Im not sure about the process of… read more
Hello all, just a general question here. After having a temporal lobectomy. When will the pain subside, as this is only being performed on one hemisphere.
Ouch these are the things I really like to know
Theyve been trying to get me to get epilepsy brain surgery for years the older I get the more I'm considering it as I'm seeing how it's affecting my life as an adult. I just want to hear other people who have already done it experiences so I know what I'm getting into. Did it completely cure you? Did your seizures get worse? Any mental changes in personality or mood? How painful was it? Etc.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member mine was so long ago I forgot about the puffy eyes. I had that as well. You have the same triggers as me
Oh! that is very disappointing. I’m sorry that this has happened to you. If my Dr ever talks to me about this as a remedy I will certainly give this a second thought
Hey everyone, I hope you guys aren't having seizures.
I have done frontal epilepsy surgery, the traditional type, resection surgery.
the surgery went nicely and the doctor resected almost everything in the damaged area, but after the surgery, I start to have acute post-operative seizures.
Moreover, It's been over 2 months, and still having seizures, I find that weird.
Has anyone done traditional surgery and been experiencing post-operative seizures????
Thank you,
Feras

I would suggest go with Laser ablation then traditional surgery.
Good luck!
How many days after a seizure does your mouth return to tasting food. Everything at the moment taste sour
Nothing taste different to me, but I sometimes crave water when I'm having a strong aura. I start swollowing a lot too, even if I'm not drinking anything
Yes, I do. Sometimes it will be just randomly or due to stressful situations.
i have had epilepsy since 4 and i was recently diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy and my epilepsy specialist said that surgery might be a good option but i also have other types of epilepsy so i dont know if my other types would be affected not only that but i have a traumatic brain injury and acute encophalophaly
Francis2,
I don’t blame You!
