I was reviewing my sleep log (started keeping one July 13, 2018). I haven’t been to bed before midnight. A couple of nights I went to bed at midnight but more often it is between 2am-5am. I don’t have a consistent sleep pattern. Some nights it’s 4 hours, some nights it’s 10 hours. Regardless of how many hours I sleep, I feel wiped out when I wake up.
What is your experience like?
I'm flakey as far as my sleep schedule. It's regular, but off hours. Unless I'm involved in physical activity, by 9:00 pm I can't stay awake. If I go to sleep, I'm up by 4:00 am, wide awake. I keep… read more

I was diagnosed with epilepsy in '98 & w/o medicine or seizures since '00. Then, in '11, diagnosed with PPMS. In '12, my epilepsy started back; 3 to 5 seizures a year (mostly Gran Mal Seizures) upto generally 2 seizures a month since 8/'16 to now. I've had several inaffective med changes & still no answers.
Has something like this happened to anyone else with MS or Any Other disease?
Harmon/sz are known to be able to be a trigger. 11' PMS,12 started back, 2 a month, anticonvulsants ineffective? I found a relation by keeping a record of each.
What is the longest time anyone has gone between seizures and what do you think helped?
1 year
I have heard in the past from several friends who have tried many others including surgery, implants or non-medication alternative methods. However, I think it would help if those of you who have to share your experience with those are now at the point where they have been told that medication will never allow them to reach a long-term seizure free state.
If Q + A section was better organized, then I would not have to ask this question, but we have a support site, so we have to do what we can… read more
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Everyone gets nervous. Usually what helps is if you talk to your epileptologist/surgeon. From the surgeon, I learned there was a better chance of dying from a car accident… read more
When you are asked to take medication in the Morning and Night when Label on the box, would you follow it to 12 Hours between taking it, or what would you think of Various time in the Morning and A Various time at Night? If you didn't have a set 12 Hour Period would you think people would have more Seizures, Because I use to work early at 6am up to Last February, but would take my Medication at 9pm for Night , so this would be over a 12 Hour Period.
Every time I get a headache and my vns goes off it makes it stronger. Is this normal? I know headaches are a side effect, but I don't have them everyday. When I do get headaches the vns makes them stronger.
Don't know
Marijuana can help seizures (not in huge amounts in a safe amount) at least I’ve heard I asked my own neurologist and she said it does but not in crazy amounts I personally smoke weed and I’ve found it does help (when it isn’t super bad) if you do yourself what’s your opinion if you don’t still drop your opinion in the comments
Nicotine causes them I have to quit which is difficult but I feel like depending on what type of seizures you have depends on how it effects you
Does anyone else have an up & down type of depression? One day you’re good, another day you’re doing well but something small makes you emotional & cry all of the sudden, another day you're good but something annoying happens & you get angry fast, another day and you’re sitting with your kitty (or other pet) on your lap at 8pm & you just hold them, thanking them & saying you love them, because they’ve saved your life... going in an up & down wobbly circle.
As well as my epilepsy I also suffer from depression so I am on antidepressants as well as my anticonvulsants anyway.
