What Treatment For Epilepsy? I've Been On 6 Different Meds.
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Every couple of years I have seizures then my Dr wants to try something new or ups the dosage. The meds I'm on now are making me dizzy and off balance

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I have been on too many meds to count. I was on phenobarbital, volume, Dilantin, Depakote, Topamax, and vimpat just to name a few. My son is on Trileptal, Keppra, Onfi, Depakote (two, 250 mg, and… read more

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Who's Looking Forward To Menopause For Less Seizures?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

In 1988 an endocrinologist- neurologist- Dr. Andrew Herzog confirmed the reason seizures happened just before my period due to my high estrogen levels. Estrogen & testosterone are used by the brain & body extensively and should not be messed with so I was waiting for it to happen naturally via menopause. Age 56 it did so seizures did abate. They returned, estrogen levels increased cause my brain started to make it's own estrogen. Like a second puberty breasts increased and metabolic rate did… read more

That's a great decrease in seizures for you. One thing I liked was knowing
when I'd have my worst. They were severe fall down convulsive type I'd
bite tongue/cheeks. break teeth, get hurt falling,… read more

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just checked where I live and a license is not required for an e-bike.

Anyone Having Positive Results Microdosing?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have Tonic-Clonic seizures every 2 weeks. I'm 51 and have been having them for 10 years now.
I started microdosing 3/10s of a gram and I still had my seizure every 2 weeks, but I went 4 months without a Tonic-Clonic seizure. https://www.magicmushrooms101.com

Does Anyone Else Struggle With Memory?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

It doesn't matter how much I try paying attention to the conversation. I couldn't tell you everything word for word even if it's just happened. It's like it goes in one ear and out the other. Like following instructions if I've been given 3/4 things to do if I've not written down I would be able to remember 3 & 4 but not 1 & 2

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I am sorry to hear that your family reacts that way. However, you have friends on here, and we can reassure you that you are normal. Epilepsy/Seizure Disorder doesn't make… read more

Has Anyone Heard Of Pseudo Seizures?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was told I have Grand Mal and other Seizure Disorders one of them called Pseudoseizures . Anyone else ever hear of this? I'm told it's hard to diagnose and often gone undiagnosed or is missed. My family and I was just grasping the Grand Mal Seizures now there's more to try and sort thru?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

How Do I Remember Things From Class?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

So I'm going back to college. I start on August 11th. Here's my deal though. I've been in and out of college since I graduated in 2009 because of Epilepsy problems. I've gone to college three other times already. Also for three different things. Should have stayed with the same track I know but I'm indecisive and I get bored easily. First time I was at the community college, I was there for my AA but I had just found out that I had Epilepsy. My GPA started dropping near the end of a year and a… read more

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone had side effects with certain foods, with your medications. Cause ever since I started taken lamitical I cant eat any of the spanish beans I used eat. Which is weird. It used to be fine when I ate spanish beans with rice but ever since I started taken lamitical for my seizures is that a side effect or no?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Tremor
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

So, this is just weird. Has anyone been shaky just in one hand? My right hand is shaking out of control, while my left hand is steady like a brick.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

There are 2 possibilities, why I get shaky hands.

1. Every once in awhile I would get the hand shakes if I didn’t eat properly.
2. I would get shaky hand or hands, if I didn’t eat
