My son is set to have left temporal lobectomy on September 28 2018. I am wanting to talk to people who have had this done and your experiences. We are very nervous.
That is a great way I bet. I meditate with praying.
My specialist has said I can now try for a baby! But i have a few risks cause I’m on 3 medication. 2 are safe but he says the topamax can be a risk...
I'm training to be a teacher and I was wondering if anyone is a teacher and has epilepsy? Is it difficult to manage your epilepsy and your job?

I know exactly how you feel! All of my seizures have happened in the morning, and that makes me nervous since I'm at school early in the morning. I hope everything goes well with your teacher… read more
My son is 19, just recently been diagnosed with generalised epilepsy after 1 1hr EEG. His first tonic clonic was on Dec 28, second one 2 days ago. They did his bloods in hospital and said his epilim level was quite low. Could that be why he had the tc? Will my son ever lead a happy life. As his mother im really struggling.

"Reduction in life expectancy can be up to 2 years for people with a diagnosis of idiopathic/cryptogenic epilepsy, and the reduction can be up to 10 years in people with symptomatic epilepsy. Reductions in life expectancy are highest at the time of diagnosis and diminish with time. Our model provides broad estimates, but it appears that the higher mortality rates in people with newly diagnosed epilepsy translate into decreased life expectancy."

As many of you know you can also have Tonic Clonic and Absence seizures under this umbrella, so to speak. I have suffered status twice from tonic Clonic seizures due to flashing lights. Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed later in life. I also have a Chiari malformation which is a herniation of my spine into the fornum magnum ( back of the skull) of… read more
