I agree, I've also been learning about myself and my condition, education has been the best medicication.
In December 2021, I was driving along and suddenly felt, the best I can put it, a bit light headed which lasted only 2 or 3 seconds. The next thing I recall seeing was my vehicle about 1/4 mile down the road where I last recall being in contact with a light pole in a local restaurant parking lot with the air bag deployed and police & paramedics around me

Summer of 2002 is when I had my worst seizure that led to my epilepsy diagnosis and becoming medicated long term. It was a fully convulsive seizure almost for a full 20+ minutes. Can a seizure of that magnitude cause long term bone structure damage? Now that I'm in my mid-50's a lot of shoulder and neck issues that just seem to linger and sometimes not much relief for. I still get random muscle jerking of my legs, mostly the right leg, and sometimes more rarely even a bit with the torso.
A seizure that lasts that long is what happened to me 2 in 1 and a half hour. They can be dangerous .
Me and my partner are wanting to try for a baby but im a bit apprehensive as I don't want my baby to have epilepsy. I know it can be genetic but I am the first person (we know about) to have epilepsy in my family and doctors don't know how I got it. I would just like to know the odds because I dont think I would be able to watch my baby have sezuires seeing how scared I make my mum when it happens to me.
I'm 64 I've got 3 grown up children who haven't any problems.( Apparently I had a first cousin who had major seizures in her teens which stopped when she got pregnant,( it was still very taboo back in… read more
My wife is living with epilepsy and I am so scared to death of losing her. I would like to know if there is anything we could do, or is it something that's inevitable?
I would say when for some reason the seizures can not be controlled, no matter what they do
My wife had a Zostavax vaccine to prevent shingles and 14 hours later had grand mal seizure that lasted 20 minutes. The T8 joint in her back collapsed during the seizure. Never had a seizure before this, has had 3 since. We believe the Zostavax bought this on, has this happened to anybody else.
Thanks, my wife was 70 when this happened,I believe that the comment on Encephalitic swelling maybe correct. I asked a Doctor his thoughts and he thought that was quite likely and the swelling has… read more
