Every couple of years I have seizures then my Dr wants to try something new or ups the dosage. The meds I'm on now are making me dizzy and off balance
I submitted a reasonable accommodation request on 10/18/22 asking that my job give me 12 hours off of work, specifically during the hours of 7pm to 7am, due to the fact that I must wake up at 6am to get my children ready for school. Also to see to it that I may get enough sleep, because the recommended amount of sleep for someone with my disability is 8-10 hours of continuous sleep per night. My boss agreed to accommodate my request for one week only: 10/31-11/05/22, even though I… read more

Hey everyone new here
Just a little background. I was diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy in 2017 and I am 30 years old. As many of you know you can also have Tonic Clonic and Absence seizures under this umbrella, so to speak. I have suffered status twice from tonic Clonic seizures due to flashing lights. Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed later in life. I also have a Chiari malformation which is a herniation of my spine into the fornum magnum ( back of the skull) of… read more
Well let us know what happens. Best of luck.
As far as I know, I haven't had a seizure in over a year. It took me 11 months to feel like myself again after the last one. Then I had 3 months of feeling really good. Now all of a sudden the side effects (brain fog, memory, exhaustion, depression, word recall, etc.) are back. I'm trying hard not to feel like I'm backtracking and to view it as all part of the package. For those of you whose seizures are under control, do your side effects come and go?
I had between 20 too 30 episodes a day for at least 10years before the age of 15 they were temperl lob apsint mind. I would use better words if I could spell them my microphone isn't working for speak to text.
Iv been off medication since 18 which is around the last time I had one

My daughters has myoclonic juvenil epilepsy, last year she had a total of 3 seizures , on February will be the junior trip to bush gardens, she should go? She enjoy the roller coasters, we have gone to the parks and we have never had any problem, but I don't know if it's fine to let her go, because I will not be there with her, she is very excited about to go to the trip with her friends.
I was told I have Grand Mal and other Seizure Disorders one of them called Pseudoseizures . Anyone else ever hear of this? I'm told it's hard to diagnose and often gone undiagnosed or is missed. My family and I was just grasping the Grand Mal Seizures now there's more to try and sort thru?
I agree especially with MarKC - thanks for reminding me of ' non epileptic seizures' I've also heard of them being called ' pseudoseizures' too
I have had epilepsy since I was 11 and I'm 34. As of now lately for the past couple of months I have been drained exhausted and I just read an article that says you can have seizures at night? Does anybody have any answers or what they do? Or does this mean my vagal nerve stimulator battery has to be changed?
I have mostly nocturnal seizures also. They happen shortly before I wake up, or sometimes shortly after I get up(that’s when I fall and get hurt). I also am severely fatigued and dehydrated when I… read more
