Has Anyone Found A Successful Treatment For Catamenial Epilepsy?

I was prescribed Depokote 20 years ago but discontinued shortly after due to side effects and it did not control the hormone triggers. I have had auras for the past 20 years but I have now had 2 grand mal seizures in the last 8 months.

As part of my little medicine cocktail I'm on 20 mg am ,20 mg am of clobazam ( Onfi ,Frisium) I'm still awaiting contact from my new neuro.I decided to reduce the night time dosage to 1 tablet .I know it's a benzodiazapine & strong Anybody had problems weaning themselves of this ? I don't intend to reduce it any more TIA

That will go away over time, I've been epileptic for 40 years now the embarrassment of having a seizure in public never really goes away.

In 1988 an endocrinologist- neurologist- Dr. Andrew Herzog confirmed the reason seizures happened just before my period due to my high estrogen levels. Estrogen & testosterone are used by the brain & body extensively and should not be messed with so I was waiting for it to happen naturally via menopause. Age 56 it did so seizures did abate.
