Has Anyone Heard Of Pseudo Seizures?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was told I have Grand Mal and other Seizure Disorders one of them called Pseudoseizures . Anyone else ever hear of this? I'm told it's hard to diagnose and often gone undiagnosed or is missed. My family and I was just grasping the Grand Mal Seizures now there's more to try and sort thru?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

How Do I Remember Things From Class?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

So I'm going back to college. I start on August 11th. Here's my deal though. I've been in and out of college since I graduated in 2009 because of Epilepsy problems. I've gone to college three other times already. Also for three different things. Should have stayed with the same track I know but I'm indecisive and I get bored easily. First time I was at the community college, I was there for my AA but I had just found out that I had Epilepsy. My GPA started dropping near the end of a year and a… read more

Is There A Connection Between Shingles And Epilepsy?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just wondered if Epilepsy could have increased my chances of getting Shingles seeing that they are both nervous system / brain related. I noticed a burny itchy spot in my cheek a few days ago. Its getting bigger. The rest of my right side of my face started itching too. And the back of my neck and down my back. So walked into the pharmacy today after church to get an antihistamine for this strange "allergy" I have. And the pharmacist told me it's not an allergy. IT'S SHINGLES! No wonder I've… read more

What Should You Do When It’s Not Possible To Take Medication ‘on Time’?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know you’re meant to take meds at the same time every day.
I take my morning medication at ~10.30am, but I work casual in retail - sometimes I’ll have morning shifts and be in the store in front of customers then.
I usually take my meds before the shift (today, that was ~8am). Is it better taking them then, 2.5hrs early, or afterwards, ~1hr late.

PS. There’s not always a chance for me to duck out to my locker and take them on time, and there’s no chance I’ll take them in front of customers.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Do you get a lunch or dinner break at work ?
If you do ,take it with your meal on your break.
My meds has to be taken when I eat.

What Is Your Sleep Like?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was reviewing my sleep log (started keeping one July 13, 2018). I haven’t been to bed before midnight. A couple of nights I went to bed at midnight but more often it is between 2am-5am. I don’t have a consistent sleep pattern. Some nights it’s 4 hours, some nights it’s 10 hours. Regardless of how many hours I sleep, I feel wiped out when I wake up.

What is your experience like?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I'm flakey as far as my sleep schedule. It's regular, but off hours. Unless I'm involved in physical activity, by 9:00 pm I can't stay awake. If I go to sleep, I'm up by 4:00 am, wide awake. I keep… read more
