I'm going to have the RNS implant in March. And all I want to know is has anyone else had it done and dose it work . I go in March to Vanderbilt medical center in Nashville Tennessee.
Since my last seizure, I find my attention span is much shorter, especially when reading. Anyone else experience this?

I was wrong in my original comment, you can pass epilepsy through genetics. Although just because you have epilepsy doesn’t necessarily mean that it was passed on through genetics

Ive been fired from 6 jobs within the past year alone for "too many missed work days" due to seizures. Or my co-workers "being uncomfortable w my epilepsy and chance of seizures". I had a seizure at work at 2 of my jobs and was fired from both shortly after each. My question is, how do you handle others who don't understand epilepsy in the workplace? I have not had a single job since I graduated highschool 5 years ago and started having seizures. I am scared of what might happen if I do and being rejected because of my disability or getting hurt on the job. My family sees me as lazy and that I'm just living off the government though. I feel like I’m falling apart! My skin, hair and muscle tone are changing and my energy levels are too. Any info on how to approach management of care (external and internal) without affecting seizures? I eat clean and exercise, but I’m suddenly feeling at a loss here.
