For the ladies... it’s hit me that I’m getting to the point where I should be family planning. I called my epilepsy nurse to discuss the risks along with my medication and it’s scared me to death. But if I don’t do it soon I don’t think it will ever happen 😢

I’d like to hear how menopause affected you, your seizures, and if they finally settled down after menopause. I’m getting horrible mood swings, hot flashes, and my seizures are more severe right now. Thanks.
Don’t even get me started with hormones! What caused me to get breast cancer? We can’t find it in the family tree! Frankly we can’t find epilepsy!
The only thing that I haven't had to deal with until maybe mid 2000's I found out I have type 2 diabetes. That and the medication made me get dehydrated quite often. I have always had dealt with stress and Sleep deprived because I was hyperactive and insomnia. So I don't think that did it. But aa the years went by and added medication for diabetes I became more prone to dehydration. I couldn't drink enough water to stay hydrated. The day I had my last seizure after all them years I was so… read more

I usually have 2-3 grand mal seizures each year. I've had 8 now, in just the first 5 months of my pregnancy. Given my experience over the last 21 years of my life since I was diagnosed, I think I'll have a seizure during labour (fatigue & stress). Its a huge concern of mine and I think a planned C-section is a better option.

I was told I have Grand Mal and other Seizure Disorders one of them called Pseudoseizures . Anyone else ever hear of this? I'm told it's hard to diagnose and often gone undiagnosed or is missed. My family and I was just grasping the Grand Mal Seizures now there's more to try and sort thru?
I agree especially with MarKC - thanks for reminding me of ' non epileptic seizures' I've also heard of them being called ' pseudoseizures' too
Do any of you have difficulty thinking of certain words sometimes. It's as if they're 'on the tip of your tongue'. Then a couple of minutes later you think of it/them
It happens a lot with me. I could get in a conversation with someone and I would get , what I call Brain Farts. I can’t think of the word or name . Yet, it’s one of those words or names I use a lot
