Every month I have seizures during my menstrual cycle. It takes about a week for my body weakness to become strong and mind to stop feeling foggy. Does anyone know how to help?
I was likely to have auras and seizures when I would ovulate (2 weeks in), and then just before mine. The science says that a drop in estrogen levels can be a factor, and make women more prone to seizures. Fortunately menopause (another causative factor) is over for me.
I hope I helped in some way, and just know you’re not alone in this situation! Good luck and stay healthy and seizure free!
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I have small jerks during my cycle. I talked with my neurologist and she gave me a few rescue meds (dissolvable clonozapam tablets). She told me to use them to prevent/stop the jerking. I also feel weak the entire time. I try my best to rest the entire cycle.
Lol I know my name seems afeminate but I'm male. But rest for a start and time.
Maybe i CAn answer that? ..two days ago i had an epilepsy attack while sleeping an you might experience confused or sleepy or unable to make any decisions that happens at least to me.. just try to relax and if you feel you can't do something like go out stay home until your brain goes back to normal..tell your doctor about it..trust me I know it's feeling like lost ..at least me an unable to understand anything.. try to sleep as comfortable as possible..
