I really want to know if I'm getting the same answers as my doctors
You're probably looking for certainty, I cant give you that, 70% will have a cure with treatment, 30% wont have a total stop to seizures, im in that later group. I accept I wont be cured. In my experience it varies by dr by city by country. One end they try and stop seizures at all costs no matter the cost to your quality of life, the other end they go too lightly & maybe seizures get worse. But you can find an optimum of medication in between where your seizures are controlled as the best they can be whilst your quality of life is good. Lifestyle changes can give you a positive sense of control & real improvement too. Youre in control of your life, not epilepsy controlling you. x
I've been told rest of my life
I’m still trying to soak that into my slow absorbing brain 🤫
Unfortunately, there is no known “cure,” and I don’t know if there ever will be ‘one’ because it can have so many causes. We’re all in this soup together, and we each are learning to cope as best we can. But there are some stories of remarkable determination here, which is what we all need to develop to live each new day as if we are beginning again. I wish you all the best and hang in there!
I've had seizures periodically since I was 5 or 6 years old.
My daughter had seizures around the same age but she no longer does. So, there's hope for some people.
