Feel Myself Jerking
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I take my meds daily and I still feel myself jerking before I take my a.m. Pills or evening pills. Why is that?

It could be the wrong type of medication, not all meds work with every single person. Or it could be the wrong dosage, or it could just be a side effect of the medication. I would suggest talking to your dr to see if the meds could be adjusted. It could also be a matter of trying to figure out if theres any patterns to events leading up to severity of the jerking movements increasing or decreasing. See if therss specific triggers, and trying to avoid those triggers. ( if you had less sleep, or not enough of a specific nutrient, or photosensativity, or too much of a specific type of food, etc. Its good to write a journal to try to look at patterns to see when its most severe to when its less severe. Look at the times of day or night, activity, product consumption, environment, emotions, amount of sleep, amongst other things.

I know when i have less sleep and am over tired i sometimes have tick like movemengx? Or i guess jerk like movements depending on the severity. Thats one of my patterns.

All prescription medications "especially seizure medicine has numerous side effects." They can make your heart beat very fast, make a person pass out, and also make a person shake. It all depends on the medicine they take along with the milligram dosage. Because everyone who takes seizure medicines won't have the same side effects and that's because everyone's immune system is not the same.

I think we have the same kind of epilepsy. Did you inherent yours?? They don't know what caused mine. Now they're thinking it could've been from PTSD.

It could also be the timing of your meds, if your time sensative, and if you wait too long before takimg your meds. Either way wish you luck on trying to figure it out
