Have any of you taken Tegretol/Carbatrol long term and later developed lupus or auto immune issues?

I know what you mean. Saw a new Dr last week. He's an Epileptologist so hoping he can help with some of problems I've had recently. He's weening me off the Carbatrol XR over the next two months. Says the Lamictal I'm taking is lowering effect of the Carbatrol. He's wanting to try Vimpat in place of it. I've heard of ut but never tried that one before. Also sent me to to a neurosurgeon to have mt VNS replaced. Not sure I'm going to. It really hasn't helped enough either.
