SSDI Backpay

Whats anyone or everyones experiences with SSDI backpay? Ive struggled years to get a favorable decision and am so so thankful! But now seems like they're putting me off, keep telling me they're sending messages to the payment center when i call them. Its not leading anywhere. I called my lawyer and spoke to the paralegal she advised mento wait another 2 weeks and call them back. Thank you all!

Hi KathyJeanFishburn , yeah that was my thinking also! It's all been different from what everyone keeps telling me with lockdowns and covid etc. I have to say I'm completely thankful I finally received the favorable decision 🙏🏻
And they did pay the lawyer and eventually me 🙄

We didn’t when my husband got his, but that was back in 2017

Has anyone had to pay an income tax on their ssdi? Or backpay they've received?

They gave my husband a year back pay. I’m still fighting for my disability.

They gave me 5 months backpay. I was lucky to get it. This is one of those impairments that is difficult to get approved. I'm over 55 which is a threshold that makes it easier.
