Why Does My Needing To Urinate Have To Do With My Seizures?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I do not know why, but when having done so, if it is a minor seizure I am better very quickly. If not, I need to sleep for 3-4 hours to recover. I know Stress is an issue for me, as well as not eating well or getting enough quality sleep.

If I have a very bad seizure I might wet myself especially after my 2nd operation I went & had a stroke down my whole right side including the rights from both my eyes. Touch wood, including my head … I had a a very bad one whilst overseas before the covid!

I was given some physical therapy that would hopefully help. Meanwhile, I do take a medication to lessen the number of times to pee very little many times. However, I may get up to go 4 times or so. That makes the quality of my sleep as well as length better. Not sleeping well is a trigger.

Normally I have been able to get to the Facilities. However, there had been times when not. The last time I had a large one, I had been walking in a Grocery Store for a long time, and being overheated. I have a Learning Disability also. I have no sense of direction at all. A large seizure could mean my not knowing where I am, having great difficulty getting to the Apartment. I also wear Diapers, because one side effect of Epidiolex is very loose bowels. I
I do take a medication that lessened the number of times I need to urinate. I had been getting up as often as 13 times. Both my Urogynecologist and Neurologist agreed my getting up 3 or 4 times would give me a better quality sleep. Not enough quality sleep is a trigger, as is not eating or not eating well.
The medication also works during the day, so I do not piddle very often. However, when I need to go, I really NEED TO GO! That is a form of Stress. That is not good for me either.

Hi Leslie3
My last long week has been terrible causing very bad stress!! Somehow I was broken into via my backdoor, no alarms going offZ of course as I wear a sleep mask each night & of course I heard nothing but the buggers stole my disabled equipment & then they came back a few days ago & opened some windows & stuffed my front door & garage door so ended up with 2 broken keys! Next we had a police squad come & check everything!

Carolyn,

Maybe feeling I have to go is a stress. That would explain why they are related, maybe.
