Is there anyone else that lives in a rural area and cannot drive? How do you cope? I am getting rides from family and friends to and from work, but it is really hard to stay home on weekends. I feel trapped in my own house.

Good morning! I live in Walton County Florida. We have Tri County Transportation Mon-Fri.
I too feel very isolated and lonely. I live alone with Josie my Siezure Alert Response Service Dog in a real area. The bus does drive to 3 counties so doctor appointment grocery it ok. Weekends are long. I am thankful for families who live nearby but they are raising children and have businesses.
I can't get a ride to church. I think people feel I am a liability to them so I have lost friends who are not willing to learn about my epilepsy. I have been granmal siezure free since January 2019.THANK GOD Other siezure types have lessened to ZERO! My RX does make me get tired easily and I do need to rest when overstimulated. I'm healthy and happy. GOD has more plans for us! This site does help. We are BLESSED to be STRONG WARRIORS TOGETHER ❀ πŸ™πŸ» ✌🌎 πŸ’œβ˜πŸŽΆπŸπŸ¦‹ πŸ’ž πŸ‘£πŸΎ

That’s how my whole life has been. I’m 40 and have never driven a car before. I’m not within walking distance of anything so I’m stuck in my house everyday. I have to rely on my parents to take me anywhere and bring me home.

I understand. The fam takes me to work every day but when I just wanna go hang out with a group of my friends it's very difficult at times. Sometimes I feel like a burden, so I just stay at home unless they are willing to come get me ya know? However, I try to stay positive no matter what. :)

I understand where you're coming from. My husband and I moved so he could be closer to work, but that took me away from my family. The closest family I have are over an hour away. He is an over the road trucker who is gone for a week at a time. I have to get all of my food for the week the day before he leaves. We do not have any form of public transportation....so I am literally stuck. I have been trying to figure out a way to get transportation without a family member...still working on it.

I've always driven for the past 30 years! And now I can't, and my husband has to take me everywhere and it's driving me insane! I live in the middle of the woods it's a 10-minute drive from everywhere but not in walking distance! It's very hard to get used to and he gets frustrated when I want to go somewhere!
