I'm finding it hard to keep a relationship due to epilepsy I'm afraid to tell them incase they run or get freaked out over it. It's frightening any advice

I'm 18 years old and have had Absent seizures since I was 2. The many different medicines I have taken have not worked for me. More bad than good. all the side affects. My Dr. is suggesting a VNS. I'm really on the fence about this as it is life changing forever more. i would like to find people to talk with that has Absent seizures with a VNS that it has help and ones that has a VNS that it hasent help and now has to live withit for the rest of their lives. please help me out with your good or… read more

My son is 7 years old and he does not want to sleep by himself or with a sibling. He wants to sleep with my husband and I all the time. I am wondering is this normal or does it have to do with the epilepsy in some way or form. He says he is scared and just can't sleep on his own. Mine were called Partial Complex, then Absence, and now Partial Awareness. Not enough good sleep, not eating well or enough, stress and being overheated are triggers.

My day is good.

Have my first date tonight after being diagnosed. Not sure how/when to disclose that I have epilepsy or explain it, I'm very nervous about having a seizure in front of him.

I just had a seizure in front of my aunt and her husband out of no where it was all caused by a firetruck and every time you have one do you apologize to everyone for having it

How do you go about telling your employer about your seizure disorder?? I have worked in manufacturing working a CNC machine and have worked in warehouses repacking parts or picking/stocking parts using a forklift. I take my medication faithfully and haven't had any grand mal seizures. I do occasionally have had staring spells, but nothing that affects my jobs.
