Can Changes In Elevation Be A Seizure Trigger?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

When we travel out west with our son, we try to select routes with the least change in elevation. We generally try to stay below 5,000 feet elevation because we have heard that changes in elevation and specifically higher elevations can be a seizure trigger. However, everyone seems to have a different opinion about this. What is your experience? Does anyone have evidence that higher elevations can cause seizures?

I've traveled to higher elevations, around 8,000 ft, in Wyoming. There wasn't any change to my epilepsy...but I wasn't able to sleep well. A lack of sleep can lead to seizures.
