Gelastic Epilepsy
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello friends,
I have gelastic epilepsy and have been on the search for anyone with this exact seizure as well. If anyone can connect me that would be great!

Hi Christina . Did you know, that you have a rare type of Epilepsy? 1 maybe 2 children out of a 1,000 kids w/ Epilepsy may get this. It even more rare for you to be diagnosed with this. It’s more common in boys than girls.

Because of this rarity, it’s hard to say how many people have this. You’re the first one I met on this site, with this diagnosis. I pray you find someone else with this.

Good luck.

And in here put in the primary symptoms of your Gelastic Epilepsy seizures in order to find others who potentially also have it.

I noticed the other option on here (Q + A) to reach out to find others.

Have you done the same your local Epilepsy Foundation site?
Click on this link and put in your zip code and then look for your version of the Florida Epilepsy to post that same question.
