Ive always taken this drug from when i first was diagonosed as a young girl. I had a emergenercy viedo call with my epilepsy nurse today. It wasnt the news i was expecting to hear…
I am anxious to take them knowing they made me feel like shit for however long..
I had a toxic reaction to them…

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member The information about a time limit on how long you can be on a medication for Tegretol is one like every other long-term medication -- it varies based on the individual.
And the only way that Tegretol will reach a toxic level is if your neurologist is not testing to check on the level in your blood stream. Too much can trigger seizures. It takes an extremely high level --which all except a bad neurologist will never let you get to--that makes it toxic.

Ive been on tegretol for 9 yrs to control grand mal seizures....ive heard that you can only be on it for a short time as it can eventually go toxic ..
