Last month I was admitted to the hospital for status epileptics. They did a lot of testing and found I had an old lacunar stroke. My previous mri and cat scans 5 years ago were normAl. I am 38 had no symptoms and have no risk factors. Has anyone else been diagnosed with one so young? I was reading on a article that says that if you have an mri, they can be misdiagnosed strokes if you are postictal, which I was for many days. Just curious.
I have status but with non convulsive partials .I went to A&E 14years ago .As I have massive post ictal confusion &couldn't communicate .they thought I'd had a TIA. When they got round to see me ,after 4hours ,my communication was improving &the confusion was lessening They did a bi lateral carotid artery scan & the blood flow to the brain was satisfactory.Im a retired speech &language therapist ,the youngest stroke patient I worked with was 33. (No epilepsy ).I knew a lady who found out she'd had a myocardial infarction years ago page didn't have a symptoms
i was misdiagnosed. it was almost misdiagnosed with add/adhd. right before drs diagnosed me... i had a grand mal. anyway there is many ways to have a seizure. and stroke is one of the common one.
