Do You Experience Vomiting Or Nausea As Part Of Your Epilepsy? (and Not Caused By Medication)
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm interested to know if vomiting or feeling like you'd like to be sick is a known occurance linked with epileptic seizures? And if you have experience of where that might fit in the epilepsy chain? Eg. Aura, seizure, or post ictal.

I know people can be nauseous from medication so I'm only asking if it's specifically related to the seizure itself.

Look forward to replies. Thank you.

I can be very nauseous both pre and post seizure but for me it's due to the metabolic conditions dx that cause my seizures. I remember one occasion I felt that I was suffocating and went out for air. I must have blacked out came round in my garden vomited and promptly blacked out again. The local St John's paramedic trainer found me and it was the 1st person to witness me having several seizures. I didn't know that the blackouts were hypoxic seizures.
The only medication I take is prn Buccolam as I can't take the normal meds due to other dx and meds that contraindicate.

The only time I ever felt that way, was when I was overdosed on meds.
