I have Epilepsy as well as PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, & now Bipolar 2. I thought I read somewhere a lot of Epileptics had some of these mental health issues. I have all 4. Is this common?
I have twin aunts that are retired nurses & say the meds can cause it. I'm on SSDI, so it can't be work. Home life is fine. So it has to be the Epilepsy or the meds😁
Smell is a weird thing for me , I be never had a sense of smell before this past of fall, and it comes and goes in episodes, but I have heard that sometimes with people with epilepsy have phantom smells either right before or after their seizures. Yesterday and today I am having another period where I can smell and taste, and I've experienced phantom smells twice. Smells that noone else have, which this is a new addition the phantom smell, but I didn't have them around seizures. Has anyone that… read more

I had an overnight EEG 4 days ago now and ever since I've been dizzier and had more light sensitivity. I haven't had any issues in regards to epilepsy, migraines in over a yr so I think it's from this. Has anyone else experienced this? I also got extremely fatigued from the smell of the glue.
I had to do an overnight EEG for the weekend and I did not have any of these side effects. Sorry to hear about what you’re experiencing. 😕

I think someone may have said their auras might include smells as well. They are not my triggers, but anything is possible.
