Do You Think Your Pets Helps You Throughout Your Epilepy?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I cannot get through the day without my dogs. They are my big comfort for me and helps me so much. They are always by my side when im having a seizure and doesnt leave me. Barks for help too. They only reason im still here is my dog….
There are lots of other things i can say my dog helps me that i feel i cannot be apart from them.

Being away from them, i get anxious too…

I feel like my Lizard helps me through most things. This is going to sound totally crazy but I will sit there and talk to her like she understands me because she looks at me while I talk😂 I honestly don't know how I survived without a pet for a year

I had a begal he wasn't trained as a service dog we got him from a rescue shelter but he had the gift or like dogs he had the sense he was very protective of me excpecally when I was having a aura or sezuire he'd bark loudly if you came anywhere near me excpecally if he didn't know you. And he wouldn't leave my side when I was having a sezuire wherever I was he'd stay by my side until I made it somewhere where I would lay down without falling and he'd lay by me the whole time with his head in my lap till I got up Nd be by me when I got up and followed me for the rest of the day because I'd be out for 8 hours after suffering a sezuire

One of my cats seemed to always know when I was having a seizure. He was a pretty big boy, his nickname was 'Big'. When I had a seizure he'd get on top of me. By doing this I couldn't get up and down and walk all over. He wouldn't get off until I was ok, he seemed to know that.

My pup is the best! I will add a photo of my Maisey Lou-my angel 😇
She is with me always. She used to run and hide when I had a seizure and a couple of times I think she recognises them because she will stare at me in an unusual way and then bark right before I have one. She has done this 2x in this last flare up. She just turned 3 years old August 28th!
