Me ! To cut a long story short I voluntarily handed it back in 2011 for good I suffered a partial seizure whilst driving My partials were becoming frequent I couldn't be responsible for killing someone ,or my self Yes ,it was &still is inconvenient.I relied a lot on lifts when I was still working My Local Authority gave me a Concessionary bus pass. I found this out by accident,if I'd known earlier I'd have saved hundreds of pounds on bus fares After a few months it stopped working The bus driver let me off &I contacted the LA to say I wanted an 'open ended pass' ie one that didn't need renewing . I haven't used it on public transport since Covid I assume it still works Trouble is I have arthritis now & would find walking to get the bus would be a problem.I didn't need any written proof to get the concessionary pass

IanCostello it is almost the same in the US. Here you can get your driver license removed due to ones seizures. You will receive a travel card to take the train or bus if it is available for you in the cities. I have no idea how it works in rural areas. The only reason i can think of why you were refused is because the application didn't go through your doctor. In the US each time you renew your card it has to be approved through your doctor. We just have to try to manage our panic attacks the best we can to avoid stress and cause a seizure to take place. Take care.
