Due to many controversial criticism etc. against the Covid-19 vaccination for people with epilepsy, I did not get the vaccination. But due to work requirements, I am strongly considering getting a vaccination
I take Tegretol (600mg / day). But as I have read, that some older antiepileptic medications can 'collide' with Covid vaccinations, especially with Tegretol. Due to the way both, the vaccination and how Tegretol work in the body, it is possible that getting a Covid jab can induce long… read more
I take tegretol same as you (600/day) I had my Covid vaccine back in april and the only side effect was pain in my arm for a day.. nothing else after that ..
Im taking 800mg Tegretol a day. Been on the same dose for years now. Had both doses Of Covid Vaccine last July. I checked with my doctor, no risks or interactions at all. I didn’t experience anything in. Particular. 👍
I take tegretol and have both vaccination plus one booster and am about the second. Zero side effects that I can tell. That said, I am going on a trip and was given an Rx for Plaxlovid in case I contract covid. The pharmacist won't release it because of a serious reaction with tegretol. This is the second potentially life saving medication I have been denied because of Tegretol. I'm really sick of these meds. I want off!
THANK-YOU ALL!. I've gotten both shots and no real problems yet. The only thing is that my shoulder (where I got the shot) hurt for 2...3 days. And because I've got quite a physical job, that did get in the way. I can still feel it now, a week after I got the shot. They did say that the second shot is more sensitive on the body.
But in general, feeling great. 😉
