My long term memory is fantastic I'm 64 and spent a lot of time in hospital having skin grafts when I was young I remember most of that ,I was diagnosed when I was 21 I started to write down early memories during various lock downs I loved it It was good to practice cursive handwriting which is a dying art.. May re write it it in the computer at some stage My recall of info & names is poor in the short term

I have heard that they can and was told it depends on the individual with epilepsy. I had Deja Vu in my teen years and then stopped as i got older and Deja Vu went away. But over time we will have a form of memory loss. Everyone is different.

I believe that it is very likely that this happens for some people with Epilepsy. In my case, I know that I can pass memories from short-term to long-term within seconds after getting them. (a normal person doesn't pass memories from short-term to long-term memory until when they have gone to sleep). I can be introduced to a person and within seconds forget that person's name if I have not written it down because it is out of short-term memory. And my memory recall is completely unreliable.
