I had my lamotrigine level checked this week and got the result this morning, 2.0, which apparently is low. Does anyone have experience with this? I am currently taking 200 mg per day. Many thanks!
My first drug was lamotrigine I was lucky if I lasted a month on it the side effects didn’t agree with me so I got put on tegretol retard now it’s called slow release I got my tegretol levels checked and it was at 15 when it should have been between 4-12 so I had to get my tegretol reduced and I had to get my lyrica/pregablin reduced as well I’m also on briviact and zonegran x x
There are a few different directions, the Dr. may take.
1. He/she may increase your Lamotrigine, unless your already at your max dosage.
2. Your Dr. may change you to a different medication, or may just add that new medication with your Lamotrigine
Hi Maureen it’s Lee Evans,When my Epilepsey was first diagnosed, I was put on Tegretol / carbamazepine, both the names of this medication is both the sign you can use either name, I know this Maureen,As I was put on those when my Epilepsey was first diagnosed but subsequently grew out of them so to speak, and they were working any more so they updated my
Med,s to ,EPILIM & CLOBAZAM and I have been fine since.

Hi Maureen, it’s Lee Evans again, as I said Maureen, Tegretol were the first medication that started on when my Epilepsey was diagnosed and I grew out of them but doing fine now. Maureen you and I are both in the same boat and we both have to suffer this condition together and it’s not a very nice experience but as long as you’re alright within yourself, and you feel okay that’s all that matters.
It’s nice to have a chat on my Epilepsey and see where your views as well.
I had to have 3 to 4 blood tests when my epilepsy was first diagnosed to get the right epilepsy medication for me, so we have both been through it,
And I hope you’re okay now.
Lee Evans.-x🧸
