My condolences to you. I can only imagine how you feel from losing a friend, and I wish I was there with you physically to give you a hug instead of virtually. This must be a very difficult moment for you. You need all the love ππ and support β€ you can get. You know what if you feel like a zombie π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ and feel you can't smile πππ send a smiling emoji instead. Try to do this just go through all the emojis and respond to my comment with no other emojis π but smiles. When your done I would suggest (1)β you write β down how you feel, (2) Make a list of everything you liked about your friend, (3) Cry it out nothing wrong with crying π’π π€«, (4) Watch a funny π π€£π video, (5) Watch a movie π₯π¦π¬ Do one of these or do them all if you want. Bπ€ut I will surely be waiting βπΌ for those smiling emojis βΊ hugs π€πππβ€β₯π€ and kisses ππππππππ for you beautiful. Sending virtual hugs π€ and kisses π
Iβm sorry for your loss I would suggest go to your doctor and see what antidepressants doesnβt interfere with your meds thatβs what I did when my depression flared up again and my gp had to write to my nuerologist to see what ones I could take x x
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I am so sorry to hear that! That is horrible. Depression and epilepsy doesn't work together we'll. Make sure you are talking it out with people. Stress is the biggest factor with us.
It all depends on what meds you are on. I've been on anti depressants before but as always go to the Doctor. That's why they make the big bucks. We are here for the rest of it.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Sorry to hear about your loss! Talk to you doctor and be honest with your doctor on the side effects that you feel after you are put on one. Even though an antidepressant may be safe to take with your medications, it does not mean that it is the best one for you as an individual. And please make sure that you are seeing a psychiatrist, psychologist or therapist to talk about things to bring down your stress levels. As my therapist explained to me, antidepressants do no prevent you from getting depression, but rather they help prevent the very deep depression and make the depression periods much shorter than if you are not on one (or a proper herbal supplement or the like that can possibly do the same or even better for you -- however talk to your doctor before trying any.)
Anti-depressants work differently for everyone. For me sertraline works well but for others it makes them feel numb, maybe a therapy might help you aswell. I wish you well on your journey.
