Is A Panic Attack An Aura?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have tonic- clonic seizures and one of the auras is a feeling of uncontrollable panic out of nowhere. I was hoping someone could tell me if this is normal. The only other thing I can think of is that the memory of having a seizure is so scary that I panic start panicking.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Talk with your neurologist if you were told that these were panic attacks, because they don't typically cause you to block out (my source is the National Library of Medicine) Most likely you are having auras leading into another type of seizure.

They are officially not the same. Here is an article that explains this fact:
In conclusion, although the current diagnostic classification defines panic disorder and simple partial seizure disorder as two separate entities, they clearly share similar features and common symptoms and may occur as comorbidities.Oct 1, 2006

That’s a normal feeling for me. I also have tonic-clinic seizures and daily auras.
