Has Anyone Else Found An Increase To Seziures Since Covid19 And How Y People Coping With Extra Stress To Try And Reduce Seziures?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've recently been in hospital seziures have increased waiting for MRI in out patients and had clobazam added to meds . They have said a lot of it could be the increase in stress everywhere. Does anyone have any ideas how to reduce stress or experienced similar lately due to the covid out break and the pressure it's putting on everyone.

Yes I think avoiding the news cycle is good advice, it’s heavy divisive stuff in the states right now & obviously triggering a lot of people, combined with Covid I feel for you all there. Trying to focus on breathing 3-4 deep slow breaths in through the nose & out the mouth can calm well & still the mind.

Stress is a big trigger for seizures, and these days have definitely been stressful. I stopped watching the news and using most of social media because its mostly negativity. This site is always a safe place to just talk and browse though. I've been reading, watching entertaining YouTube videos, listening to music, and exercising. Still gets lonely being locked up during covid, but you can always make friends on here.

I try to shut off everything and find something meditative to do. Doesn’t need to be yoga or classic meditation. For me, it’s cooking, playing guitar, art, etc... find one of those things that feeds your soul and run with it. It’s easy to go into information overload and be completely overwhelmed.

Sorry to hear. I just started taking Clobazam as an add-on. I don't know for sure, but I think it could be stress related. I don't sleep well and lack of sleep can be a trigger for seizures.
