I went for blood work and brought a script. Most of the other Patients didn't have one and the Receptionist had to contact Their Doctor...

Haven't been able to have my blood due to COVID.
AND IF you read my last post you'll see what I said
Usually would have a "script from my PC Doctor" that had instructions as
to what Blood tests he wanted.??
In Canada we call the form a requisition for lab work. Now they fax it straight to whatever lab I want and I just call and make an appointment especially since covid. I don't even know it they accept walk ins anymore. Things change in the medical world so fast.
Wishing you the best. Dena.
MY primary Care doctor has a lab in his office.
SO does my Neurologist.
IF not I just go to my Primary Doctor & have them fax over the results.
The lab that I go to is part of the same large medical practice as all of my doctors, thus when the doctors want blood work, their secretaries send the order online to the lab. It has been at least a decade since I have actually had to carry in any paperwork from the doctor that explained what he/she wanted the testing for.
I got a a script detailing what blood work I need doing which I then take to the nurse who takes the blood the last time it was posted to me so I could take it to the nurses who deal with taking blood and then send it away to get tested x x
