Hi Ian .

Looks like your hair is pretty dark too. You may go through what I did ,when I met my Neurosurgeon to get my stitches out.

Few strains of hair , stitch, few strains of hair , stitch .

Your welcome @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member . I hope your hair doesn’t grow fast like mine . When I visited my neurosurgeon, my hair grew back fast. . Plus my hair is near black . When the surgeon was pulling out My stitches , he had trouble , finding them . They blended in with my hair . So it was a hit or miss with me . The surgeon kept apologizing when he would accidentally pulled my hair .

I had my surgery done in 1998 . I took about 8 weeks to recovery. One month or 2 later they did the Neuro Psych Test again to seeing if anythingIf anything changed after the surgery.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member .
I had what looks Like a similar brain surgery to @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member. Mine was also a left temporal lobe .

Before my surgery they did many tests. They first did a 4hr. EEG. Then I was scheduled for a MRI . The next test was a Neuro Psych Test and memory / comprehension tests ( similar to IQ test ) . Then my next scheduled test was the WADA Test . The last test they did was when I went into the Epilepsy Unit . They they put the GRID / Mapping test directly against the Brain and connected to then EEG . While doing the EEG and map test they, wanted me to have a big Strong seizure . Then a specialist came a visited me with a device that they connected the GRID/Mapping test to it . They wanted to know how close the seizures are to my speech, language and memory centers. Then it was off to the brain surgery.
